How Much is a DOT SAP Evaluation?
Resilient Return brings the cost down to $499 for SAP services.
This amount covers the entire cost for SAP services, including:
- Initial SAP Evaluation – The first step where your SAP assesses your situation. This is about a 1-hour video appointment.
- Education or Treatment Recommendations – Based on your evaluation, your SAP will recommend the necessary education or treatment for your personal requirements. This personalized plan and sending out these referrals are included in the SAP cost. However, the courses or counseling that you are required to take will come at your own cost. This is required as a part of DOT regulations. Please see below for more information.
- Follow-up Evaluation – After completing the recommended steps, your SAP will conduct a final SAP evaluation to ensure compliance and progress. You are not eligible for the return-to-duty drug test until AFTER this evaluation is successfully completed.
- Reports for Your Employer – All necessary reports that your employer will require are also included in your SAP fees.
Payment Plan Option
For those who might need some financial flexibility, there is a payment plan available:
- Initial Evaluation – You can start your initial evaluation by putting down $250.
- Second Invoice – After your first appointment, you’ll receive an invoice for the remaining $250.
Legal Requirements and Referrals
It’s important to understand that your SAP has certain legal responsibilities. They are legally required to refer you to other providers for fulfilling your education or treatment requirements. This means:
- Virtual Options – You will be given virtual options to complete your requirements after your SAP evaluation.
- Your Responsibility – The fees for these requirements are your responsibility and are not included in the SAP’s fee.
- No Dual Roles – A SAP cannot complete both the evaluation and the education/treatment requirements. They are required by law to refer you out to ensure impartiality.
Navigating the DOT SAP process can seem daunting, but understanding the costs and requirements can help you plan accordingly. Remember, your SAP is there to guide you through each step and ensure you meet all necessary requirements to get back on track.
